3rd Annual LEAPS
What: LEAPS Academy, a 3 day service-learning, leadership development program
Where: City Year Boston Headquarters and Hostelling International,
Boston, MA
Recruit a group of 4-6 teens interested in workers’ safety. Teens and their adult advisor participate in the Academy. Teams develop a community project or event, to be implemented in their community. A stipend and all expenses will be paid for the advisor and teen participants.
Why: Bring together teens from across the state in hands-on activities focused on worker safety, worker rights, and workplace violence prevention
Provide youth with critical skills and hands-on opportunities to develop their leadership and teaching skills
Teens develop and return back to their communities to conduct an action plan focused on promoting youth worker safety and preventing workplace violence
