Mirna has been at MassCOSH for over 5 years and first got involved with the organization as the office manager and hotline coordinator before ultimately becoming a worker center organizer. She previously worked helping immigrant communities and victims of slavery. She always had a passion for helping others, especially those who have been victims of an oppressive system . She also believes in helping working class families and has always expressed an interest in the labor movement. She joined the MassCOSH Worker Center team where she has helped immigrant workers with an array of problems they experience in the workplace and also plays a key role in creating leadership at the Worker Center. She believes that from the first moment a worker comes in we must not only help the worker in recovering wages or filing a workers comp case but also develop their ability to be leaders in the workplace and in their communities.
Mirna has extensive background in media, specifically working with Latino TV media and radio outlets . She has a degree in communications and TV production from the New England Institute of Arts and is currently working towards a degree in Political Science and International Affairs at Northeastern University.
