Cleaning Green
Whether you are a homeowner, business owner, cleaning company or cleaner, there are many benefits to cleaning green.
Homeowners
Chances are, your house is chock full of potentially harmful particulates. In small amounts, our body can flush most of these microscopic particles out of our system. However, a small percentage always lingers. Why add to the problem? By using green chemicals, and insisting that cleaning companies use them, you will be greatly reducing the amount of harmful matter that your family inhales on a daily basis.

Cleaners
What could be more important than your health? Using the same toxic chemicals everyday can take its toll on your health. Many janitors, custodians, and cleaners share complaints of cracked, dried skin, rashes, burning, itchy eyes, and breathing problems. What many may not realize is that these problems are reversible, and very easy to fix. First things first – know your chemicals and hazards associated with them. You can only protect yourself if you know what you are protecting yourself from. When using harmful chemicals, cleaners should be provided with the appropriate protective gear for their jobs (gloves, breathing masks, protective eyewear, etc.). If possible, it would be best to do away with toxic chemicals, altogether! Green label chemicals are widely available - and at a reasonable cost! Most importantly, these products will not compromise the health of the workers who use them.
Business Owners
The same is true of many businesses. Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) has been known to be caused by such elements as poor air circulation and lighting. In an already compromised environment, it is best for everyone if safe, non-toxic chemicals are used for cleaning. Studies have shown that improved working environments result in happier workers and less sick days. In essence, the use of green cleaning practices is but another investment!

Cleaning Companies
When your workers are constantly exposed to toxic chemicals, their health is being put at risk. The use of green chemicals mitigates (if not annhilates) this risk. With safer chemical use, your workers will not have to deal with irritating rashes, dry and bleeding skin, and respiratory irritation. In short, there will be greater productivity adn far fewer sick days needed!
But, money talks, right? Well, many safer chemical alternatives clean just as good as other name brand cleaners and cost about the same price. In fact, businesses and schools that have switched to green cleaning have been able to reduce the amount of product used to a mere fraction of the former amount!
