Rachel Smit

Rachel is an associate attorney at Fair Work, P.C., where she represents workers in class actions as well as in individual cases of wage theft, discrimination, and retaliation. Prior to joining Fair Work, Rachel worked at Greater Boston Legal Services, where she represented primarily immigrant employees in the Employment Law Unit. Rachel’s work at GBLS was funded by the Skadden Fellowship Program (sometimes referred to as the “Legal Peace Corps”). Rachel designed her Skadden project to help employees of temporary staffing agencies, who are jointly employed by a temp agency and a worksite employer, assert their workplace rights. During her Skadden Fellowship, Rachel worked closely with MassCOSH and a coalition of community-based organizations to advocate for strong regulations protecting temp workers. Rachel joined the board of MassCOSH in January 2017.
