Shawn Nehiley

Shawn started in the trades as a Teamster on a trash truck. Shawn was introduced into the Ironworkers trade in 1988. He spent 3 years learning the trade as an apprentice, graduating at the top of his class as the “1991 Apprentice of the Year.” He plied his trade for the next 17 years in the field while also serving as a part time officer during that time. In 2008, he became a full-time Industry Analyst for the Ironworkers Union Local 7, moving on to Business agent in 2012, then to Business Manager in 2016. Shawn has been associated with many other workers’ rights groups such as “Jobs with Justice” and “Friends of Labor.” Shawn oversees and runs a weekly AA Meeting at the Local 7 Hall. Shawn has shown great compassion to all his members and especially the families and friends of Trade Unionists that have been killed while working at their trade.
